Barry Trailer reported some great findings in his July 16th blog about lead generation trends.  Managing partner at CSO Insights, Mr. Trailer issued his 2010 Lead Generation Optimization Report which is based on surveys of over 600 companies.

His findings certainly point to important trends for lead generation experts like Brad Powers.  He found that, in 2010, 72% of firms are increasing their marketing budgets, in contrast to dramatic decreases last year.  He also found, for the first time in the 7 years of this report, that a small majority of firms now track the ROI of their marketing campaigns.

Fynanz recently launched a new website providing students with valuable information on various college financing options.  It also has useful sites and articles providing regularly updated content.  It is hoped that this will give students easily accessible information on different types of funding, choosing the right college, financial aid, etc.  It will also be a great resource for students’ parents.  Brad Powers is an advisor to Fynanz.

One example of viral marketing is using a free email provider, like Yahoo! or Hotmail.  How does it work?  The email company provides free email services so people want to sign up.  But, as we all know, there is no such thing as a free lunch, so what is the catch?  The email company uses each of your outgoing messages to advertise themselves.  The effect of this is that your email network will forward the email to their lists and then those people will take advantage of the “free” email service too which will have the viral impact of advertising the company even further.

This is certainly an interesting article from a guest writer for Search Engine Land.com writing about how not to become the “Bed Boys of Conversion.”  The article looks at lead generation and helps businesses to create a plan for their own practical use. Check it out!
